Prasar Bharati Chairman's resignation accepted

New Delhi, Dec 18 Government today accepted the resignation of Prasar Bharati Chairman Arun Bhatnagar, who had resigned in May because he was "dissatisfied" with the functioning of the Board. Bhatnagar, a retired IAS officer who had taken over as chairman of the public broadcaster in May 2008, had tendered his resignation in May close on the heels of the UPA returning to power for a second term. His resignation, which was sent to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, has been accepted by the government, official sources said.
